Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Notes

NOTE:
This procedure describes the removal and installation of all the transmission cooling system tubes and hoses. Only disconnect those that require removal from the vehicle.
Hose removal
NOTE:
Proceed to Disconnecting the tubes if only removing the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the vehicle.
- Remove the A/C condenser core. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL .
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the cooler.
- Cut and discard the clamp.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the cooler.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the transmission fluid cooler tube.
- Open and position the clamp aside.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the transmission fluid cooler tube.
- Proceed to HOSE INSTALLATION if not removing the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the vehicle. Otherwise, proceed as follows.
- If not done previously, raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- If not done previously, remove the LH splash shield pushpin.
- If not done previously, remove the bolts and the LH splash shield.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission.
- If not done previously, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hoses from the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Open and position the clamps aside.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hoses from the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Remove the nut, fluid cooler tube bracket and fluid cooler tubes.
- Remove the fluid cooler tube routing bracket from the fluid cooler tubes.
