Main Control Valve Body: Removal
NOTE:
The use of any transmission fluid other than what is recommended for this transaxle will cause transaxle damage.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the screws and the underbody cover.
- Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes at the transaxle and position the tubes aside.
- Remove and discard the transmission fluid pan bolts and remove the pan.
- Remove the sealer off the fluid pan.NOTE: When removing the sealer, use care not to damage the sealing surfaces.
- Disconnect the wire harness from the solenoids.
- Remove the wire harness from the clamps.
- Disconnect the 8 solenoid connectors and the 2 speed sensor connectors.
- Remove the wire harness from the clamps.
- Remove the 2 speed sensor wires from the solenoid clamp.
- Remove the bolt and the lock plate and pull out the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor.
- Remove the 2 bolts, suction cover and gasket.
- Remove the 6 main control valve body bolts in the sequence shown below.
- Remove the main control valve body.NOTE: Be careful when removing the main control valve body, the manual control lever will fall out of its bore. Also, once all the bolts are removed, the main control valve body will fall out of the transaxle.
