Removal and Installation

All vehicles 

NOTE: The Audio Control Module (ACM) and the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) are serviced separately. For additional information on the removal of the FCIM, refer to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) - WITHOUT NAVIGATION  or FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) - WITH NAVIGATION  .
    NOTE: Module configuration is required when a new ACM is being installed.
  1. Upload the ACM configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in MODULE CONFIGURATION SYSTEM article.
  2. Remove the RH instrument panel finish applique. For additional information, refer to Instrument Panel - Exploded View in INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE article.
  3. Remove the LH and RH floor console finish mouldings.
    • Using a suitable tool such as a trim removal tool, pry upward to disengage the clips.

  4. Remove the floor console upper finish panel.
    • Using a suitable tool, pry upward to disengage the clips.

  5. Remove the 2 screws and the floor console cup holder.

  6. NOTE: The shifter knob is shown in the illustration removed for clarity.

  7. Remove the 4 selector lever trim panel screws, and slide the trim panel rearward to disengage the clips.

    Vehicles without navigation 

  8. Remove the 6 screws and the HVAC module.

    Vehicles with navigation 

  9. Remove the 4 screws and the floor console front finish panel.

    All vehicles 

  10. Remove the 4 screws and the ACM.
    • Disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna lead-in cable.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
