Main Control Valve Body: Assembly
- Install the valve body valves, springs and retaining clips in the main control valve body and lower valve body. See the VALVE BODY and LOWER VALVE BODY illustrations at the beginning of this procedure for valve and spring locations.
- Install the manual valve in the valve body.
- Install a new lower valve body separator plate and gasket on the main control valve body.
- Install the lower valve body on the main control valve body.
- Install the 6 check balls in the valve body.
- Install a new valve body separator plate and gasket.
- Install the transfer plate assembly and hand-tighten the 5 bolts.
- 63 mm (2.48 in) bolts
- 35 mm (1.377 in) bolts
- Tighten the 5 valve body bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Install the transfer plate cover assembly and hand-tighten the 6 bolts.
- 63 mm (2.48 in) bolts
- 35 mm (1.377 in) bolts
- Tighten the 6 valve body bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- If the valve body originally had 7 check balls and was assembled with 6 check balls, update the PCM to the latest calibration.
NOTE:
Do not stone or polish any valves. If the valves do not move freely during assembly, install a new valve body.
NOTE:
If the main control valve body had 7 check balls, do not install the valve latch circuit check ball removed during disassembly.
NOTE:
Do not reuse the valve body separator plate. Failure to install a new separator plate will result in transmission damage.
NOTE:
Install the different length bolts in the correct location as noted during disassembly.
