Body Control Module (BCM): Installation
All Vehicles
- Install the B+ connector onto the BCM.
- Position the 2 BCM alignment tabs into the 2 holes and install the nut.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Install the harness pushpin into the BCM.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the driver door scuff plate.
Vehicles without Intelligent Access (IA)
- Program the IKTs (minimum of 2) into the new BCM. For additional information, refer to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) .
- Carry out parameter reset between the BCM and PCM. For additional information, refer to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS)
.
Vehicles with Intelligent Access (IA)
NOTE: If a new BCM is installed, the ignition does not turn on until a parameter reset is performed between the BCM and Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module. - Carry out the parameter resets. For additional information, refer to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS)
.
- Carry out the parameter reset between the BCM and RFA module.
- Turn the ignition ON.
- Carry out the parameter reset between the BCM and PCM.
- Carry out the keyless entry keypad code reset. For additional information, refer to Keyless Entry Keypad Code Programming in
HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS
.
All Vehicles
- Turn the ignition ON.
- Download the BCM configuration information from the scan tool to the new BCM. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
- Train the tire pressure sensors. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
- Carry out the BCM self-test to confirm all DTCs have been cleared.
NOTE:
If the BCM was not replaced, this is the last step that is necessary.
NOTE:
Once the BCM Programmable Module Installation (PMI) is complete, follow the scan tool on-screen instructions for performing the Configurable Engine Immobilizer (CEI) Lock Configuration.
NOTE:
If the dome lamps are flashing after BCM installation, it was not configured completely. Repeat steps 6 through 13.
