Condition Possible Sources Action
No communication with the ABS module Fuse
Wiring, terminals or connectors
ABS module concern
REFER to Module Communications Network to diagnose the no communication concern.
The red brake warning indicator is always/never on Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) concern
ABS concern
RETRIEVE all DTCs and REFER to the ABS Module DTC Chart . If no DTCs are present, REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes .
The yellow ABS warning indicator is always/never on IPC concern
ABS concern
RETRIEVE all DTCs and REFER to the ABS Module DTC Chart . If no DTCs are present, REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes .
The stability/traction control indicator "sliding-car icon" is never/always on IPC
ABS concern
RETRIEVE all DTCs and REFER to the ABS Module DTC Chart . If no DTCs are present, REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes .
ABS false activation, ABS too sensitive, ABS activates on normal stop Front/rear suspension concern ELIMINATE the front/rear suspension as the cause of the problem. For front suspension, REFER to Front Suspension . For rear suspension, REFER to Rear Suspension .
RCM mounting REFER to Supplemental Restraint System to confirm the RCM is mounted correctly.
Loose wheel speed sensor/excessive air gap INSPECT wheel speed sensor for looseness or excessive air gap. TIGHTEN or INSTALL new as necessary. REFER to Wheel Speed Sensor - Front  or Wheel Speed Sensor - Rear .
Parking brake shoes out of adjustment (dragging) CHECK and if necessary, ADJUST the parking brake shoes. REFER to Parking Brake and Actuation .
The traction control system cannot be disabled IPC message center
If a MyKey ® restricted key is in use with the AdvanceTrac ® always-on feature configured to "on", the traction control system cannot be disabled. An admin key must be used in order to enable and disable the traction control system
