Power Steering Pump: Notes

NOTE: Replace pump as an assembly if any parts are found to be defective.
  1. Secure pump in soft-jawed vise. Remove nuts and bolts holding the suction line and oil tank. Remove oil tank assembly. Remove bolts holding rear body and remove rear body.
  2. Remove cam case, cam ring, vanes, pins, snap ring and rotor. Remove drive shaft and bolt connector from housing. Remove control valve with spring and discard "O" rings on bolt. Remove shaft seal if damaged.
CAUTION: Remove oil seal carefully to avoid damage to pump housing.
