Distributor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Remove high tension leads.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose and wiring.
3. Turn crankshaft so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of compression.
4. Remove distributor. Do not turn crankshaft after distributor has been removed.

INSTALLATION

Reverse removal procedure to install, noting the following:
1. Coat O-ring with engine oil.
2. Ensure No. 1 cylinder is at TDC.
3. Align distributor blade with small oil holes, then install distributor.
4. After completing installation, adjust ignition timing.
