Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection

Disconnect connector from ignition coil while checking igniter.

1. Disconnect igniter connector.
2. Connect tool 49F018002, Fig. 9. or equivalent between igniter and igniter connector.
3. Connect ohmmeter between tool and ground and set scale change dial to X1. Do not cross ohmmeter leads. Connect positive lead to ground and negative lead to tool.
4. Connect tool to battery.
5. Turn ignition switch to ON position.

6. Push up ``SW2'' switch on tool, Fig. 10. while observing ohmmeter.
7. Pointer needle on ohmmeter should jump up to approximately midpoint on scale and return to zero. If not, replace igniter.
