Knock Sensor (Turbo)

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Connect a timing light and watch timing mark. Using plastic hammer, tap engine hoist bracket. Timing should not move.
  2. Using a jumper wire, ground single pin Green connector near air filter. Tap engine hoist bracket with hammer. If timing does not retard, replace knock sensor. Disconnect jumper wire.
  3. Test drive vehicle. If knocking still occurs, refer to PIN VOLTAGE CHART S and SENSOR RANGE CHARTS articles.
