Self-Diagnosis Checker

  1. Connect Self-Diagnosis Checker (49 H018 9A1) to Green 6-pin connector next to Green 1-pin check connector near fuel filter. Connect Self-Diagnosis Checker to battery negative terminal. Set switch to position A. Connect Green 1-pin check connector to ground.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON. Checker should display "88" and sound buzzer for 3 seconds. If "88" does not flash, check main relay, power supply circuit or check connector wiring.
  3. If Self-Diagnosis Checker displays "88" and/or buzzes contiuously for more than 20 seconds, check for short between ECU pin 1F and check connector. Replace ECU if necessary, and start code retrieval again.
  4. Note any codes that are displayed. Repair faults indicated, then clear codes.
