Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

Inhibitor Switch:






1. Disconnect control linkage from manual shaft.
2. Move manual shaft to "N" position.
3. Loosen switch mounting bolts.

Inhibitor Switch Adjustment:






4. Align inhibitor switch and manual shaft lever holes by inserting a pin of approximately 0.157 in (4.0 mm) O.D.
5. Tighten mounting bolts and torque to 22 - 35 in.lbs (2.5 - 3.9 Nm).
6. Recheck switch continuity. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING under TESTING PROCEDURES.
7. If not as specified, replace inhibitor switch.
8. Connect control linkage and torque manual shaft nut to 22 - 29 ft.lb (29 - 39 Nm).
