Burn-Off Control System

Burn-Off Control System:

The airflow sensor is equipped with a self-cleaning feature that momentarily super-heats the hot wire to burn off any accumulated contaminants.

The Burn-Off Control System operates for 2 - 5 seconds after the ignition is switched "OFF" and these conditions are met:

^ Engine has run at more than 1500 rpm for five seconds after warm-up.
^ More than the programmed amount of intake air has passed through the airflow sensor since the previous burn-off operation.
