Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation


PURPOSE
Provides vehicle speed signal to operate speedometer/odometer. From instrument cluster, speed signal is sent to ECU for calculations requiring this input.

LOCATION
On transmission.

OPERATION
Sensor is an alternating current generator. Voltage output varies with vehicle speed.
