System Inoperative Using Transmitter

  1. Remove transmitter battery. Measure voltage between transmitter battery terminals. If about 3 volts does not exist, replace transmitter battery. If about 3 volts exists, install transmitter battery to charge transmitter. Wait at least 5 seconds. Remove transmitter battery.
  2. Measure voltage between transmitter terminals (not battery terminals). If about 3 volts does not exist, replace transmitter. If about 3 volts exists, measure voltage between transmitter terminals while pressing LOCK or UNLOCK switch. If 1.2 volts exists, install transmitter battery and go to next step. If 1.2 volts does not exist, replace transmitter.
  3. Check ROOM fuse (15-amp). If fuse is blown, replace fuse and/or repair wiring as necessary. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  4. Measure voltage at Blue/Red wire terminal of door lock timer unit connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Blue/Red wire between fuse and door lock timer unit.
  5. Disconnect door lock timer unit connector. Check continuity between ground and Black/Red wire terminal of door lock timer unit connector. If continuity does not exist, repair Black/Red wire between door lock timer unit and ground. If continuity exists, reconnect door lock timer unit connector and go to next step.
  6. Measure voltage at Blue, Blue/Yellow and Brown wire terminals of door lock timer unit connector. If 5 volts does not exist, check door lock timer unit. See DOOR LOCK TIMER UNIT TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If 5 volts exists, go to next step.
  7. Measure voltage at the following terminals of front and rear keyless unit connectors:
    • Blue and Brown wire terminals (front keyless unit).
    • Blue/Yellow and Brown wire terminals (rear keyless unit).

If 5 volts does not exist, repair wiring between door lock timer unit and keyless unit. If 5 volts exists, go to next step.

  8. Disconnect front and rear keyless unit connectors. Check continuity between ground and Black/Red wire terminal of front and rear keyless unit connectors. If continuity does not exist, repair Black/Red wire between keyless unit and ground. If continuity exists, replace front and/or rear keyless unit(s).
