Using Test Light

  1. Leave electrical connector attached to cruise control unit. Connect a 1.4-watt test light between Pins "D" and "F" of cruise control unit connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
NOTE: There is no wire in Pin "D" of cruise control unit connector. Push test light probe through connector cavity until probe contacts Pin on cruise control unit.
  2. Turn ignition on. Turn main switch on. Ensure cruise indicator light illuminates. If cruise indicator light does not illuminate, repair before continuing.
  3. Activate RESUME switch for at least 3 seconds. Test light will illuminate for 3 seconds, then go out for 2 seconds. After this, light will flash codes (if stored). See FAULT CODE DIRECTORY  . If no fault codes are stored, light will not flash. To exit self-diagnostics, drive vehicle at a speed greater than 10 MPH or turn main switch off. Ensure cruise indicator goes out.
