Vehicle Speed Sensor
WARNING:

apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
NOTE:
If speedometer operates, vehicle speed sensor is okay.
- Remove instrument cluster. Connect ohmmeter across appropriate terminals of printed circuit connector and check continuity. See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION . SeeFig 1 .
- Insert a screwdriver into speedometer cable receptacle and rotate receptacle. If continuity is not present 4 times per revolution, replace speedometer. If continuity is present 4 times per revolution, check wiring between instrument cluster and cruise control unit. Repair or replace as necessary.
