Measuring Rear Axle Speed Sensor Clearance

  1. Measure distance "A" between sensor rotor teeth and sensor attaching surface. See Fig 1. Measure distance "B" between sensor attaching surface and sensor metal tip.
  2. To calculate clearance, subtract measurement "B" from measurement "A". Clearance should be.020-.047" (.5-1.2 mm). If clearance is less than specification, adjust during installation using Adjustment Shim (P049-27-155). If clearance exceeds specification, replace speed sensor.
