Steering Angle Sensor (1995)

NOTE: Steering angle sensor is part of combination switch. If steering angle sensor is defective, replace combination switch.
WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all WARNINGS and SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. See STEERING COLUMN article.
  1. Turn ignition off. Remove combination switch. See STEERING COLUMN article. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage to terminal "A" and ground terminal "F" at combination switch connector. See Figure .
  2. Connect an ohmmeter between ground and terminal "B" at combination switch connector. Turn clockspring clockwise then counterclockwise and note resistance. Resistance should switch from 50 ohms to 13 k/ohms every time steering angle sensor rotates 6 degrees. If resistance is not as specified, replace combination switch.
