Engine Disassembly/Assembly

  1. Remove the engine from the transmission. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION or M/T TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. The clutch unit (M/T). (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. The drive plate (A/T). (See DRIVE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. The intake-air system (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. The exhaust system (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. The primary fuel injector and wiring harness (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove components in the order indicated. See Fig 1.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
