No Module / Network Communication - No Power To The NGS Tester Through The DLC

NO MODULE / NETWORK COMMUNICATION - NO POWER TO NGS TESTER THROUGH DLC

PINPOINT TEST 2 NO MODULE / NETWORK COMMUNICATION
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK NGS TESTER CONNECTOR
  • Inspect NGS Tester terminals.
  • Are the terminals OK? 
Yes Go to step 2.
No Repair NGS Tester connector. Test the system for normal operation.
2 CHECK DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC) B-209
  • Inspect data link connector (DLC) B-209 pins.
  • Are the pins OK? 
Yes Go to step 3.
No Repair DLC B-209. Test the system for normal operation.
3 CHECK VOLTAGE TO NGS TESTER-(O) WIRE
  • Measure the voltage between pin 16 (0) of DLC B-209 and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
Yes Go to step 4.
No Repair (0) wire. Test the system for normal operation.
4 CHECK THE DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC) GROUND-(B) WIRE AND (B/W) WIRE
  • Measure the resistance of pin 4 (B) and pin 5 (B/W) of DLC B-209 and ground.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Repair or replace NGS Tester. Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair (B) wire and/or (B/W) wire. Test the system for normal operation.
