Encoded Ignition Key

When ignition switch is in START or RUN position, PATS module initiates the encoded ignition key interrogation process. Each encoded ignition key must be programmed into PATS module before it can be used to start the vehicle. See KEY PROGRAMMING (SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE)  under PROGRAMMING. This encoded ignition key is much larger in size than a standard key to accommodate the electronics located inside plastic cover.
