Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Removal/Installation

WARNING:
  • A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
  1. Drain the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)
  2. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
  3. Remove the ECT sensor.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Tightening torque 

    10-14 N.m 

    {1.02-1.42 kgf.m, 7.38-10.32 ft.lbs} 

  5. Refill the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)
