Oil Cooler Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the coolant into a container. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
  3. Drain the ATF into a container. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
  4. Remove the battery, battery tray, and battery tray bracket.
  5. Remove the air cleaner component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the radiator grille.
  7. Remove the front bumper.
  8. Remove the splash shield.
  9. Remove the mudguard.
  10. Remove in the order indicated in the figure.

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  12. Add ATF to the specified level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
  13. Add coolant to the specified level. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
  14. Connect the negative batter cable.
  15. Inspect for oil leakage from the oil pipes and oil hoses.
  16. Inspect for coolant from the hoses.
  17. Inspect the ATF level and condition. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION .)
  18. Carry out the line pressure test. (See LINE PRESSURE TEST .)
  19. Carry out the road test. (See ROAD TEST .)
