Removal & Installation (B2300, B3000 & B4000)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the PCM harness connector. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove the 2 nuts and PCM cover. See Fig 2.
  4. Remove PCM.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    NOTE: PCM must be reprogrammed after installation. See REPLACEMENT POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE VID BLOCK & AS BUILT DATA  under POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (B2300, B3000 & B4000) in PROGRAMMING.
