Spark Plug Removal/Installation

CAUTION:
  • If a spark plug that is not as specified is installed, sealing performance will be deteriorated. Install only the specified spark plug when replacing.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the ignition coil. (AJ engine model) (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the high-tension leads. (L3 engine model) (See HIGH-TENSION LEAD (L3) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the spark plug using the plug-wrench.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque 

L3: 10-14 N.m {1.1-1.4 kgf.m, 8.0-10.3 ft.lbf} 

AJ: 9-20 N.m {91-204 kgf.cm, 79-177 in.lbf}
