A/C Compressor Removal/Installation: Notes

- Evacuate the refrigerant from the system.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the under cover.
- Remove the drive belt.CAUTION:
- If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.
- Disconnect the cooler hoses (HI) and (LO). (See REFRIGERANT LINES REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the Fig 1 . Do not allow compressor oil to spill.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Adjust the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT [FS] .)(See DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT [KL] .)
- Recharge with refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING .) (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY .)
- Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST .)
