Cooling Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

- Evacuate the refrigerant from the system.
- Remove the center lower panel. (See CENTER LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Cut the grooves of dashboard stay using a coping saw, as shown in Fig 1
.
CAUTION:
- If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.
- Disconnect the accumulator tank. (See ACCUMULATOR TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect cooler pipe No.5. (See 07-11-19 REFRIGERANT LINES REFRIGERANT LINES REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the Fig 2 . Do not allow compressor oil to spill.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Recharge with refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING .) (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY .)
- Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST .)
