Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mazda Tribute, 2002 Mazda Protege5, 2002 Mazda Protege, 2002 Mazda Millenia, and 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The B2300 pick-up & Tribute 2.0L use a Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor. See CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor device which changes resistance proportionate to temperature changes. The ECT sensor inputs engine coolant temperature to the PCM. For ECT sensor location, see CHT & ECT SENSOR LOCATIONS table.
