WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda B4000, 2002 Mazda B3000, and 2002 Mazda B2300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove power window relay. Measure resistance between terminal No. 85 and all other terminals of relay. See Fig 2. If all resistance readings are greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If any resistance reading is 5 ohms or less, replace power window relay.
- Using two fused jumper wires, connect positive battery voltage to relay terminals No. 86 and No. 30. Measure voltage at terminal No. 87a. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace power window relay.
- With both jumper wires connected as in step 2) , connect another jumper wire between ground and relay terminal No. 85. Measure voltage at terminal No. 87. If battery voltage does not exist, replace power window relay. If battery voltage exists, power window relay is okay at this time.
