Key Programming Switch State Control - WDS

NOTE:
- The spare key programming switch is a WDS programmable switch which provides the capability to enable/disable the customer spare key programming procedure. Refer to the Owner Literature spare key programming procedure or KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS . This programmable switch is provided as a convenience for customers who may not want the spare key programming procedure available to the vehicle driver.
NOTE:
- This procedure was performed using WDS B18 software. Later software versions may have a slightly different screen order or content.
- Connect WDS DLC cable to vehicle's DLC connector (lower portion of dash in front of driver).
- Press "16 PIN", All except those below". Press tick.
- Screen shows cable hookup. Turn ignition switch to ON. Press tick.
- Screen shows WDS communicating with PCM "progress bar" and "operation in progress".
- Wait until WDS finishes collection of PCM information (hard drive light quits flashing). Then the "Vehicle Specification" screen appears with VIN # information. It asks you "Is this correct?" Press "Yes" if information is correct.
- Screen appears to fill out R.O. information and mileage. Fill out the information (or skip this). Press tick.
- Screen now returns to the "Vehicle Specification Screen".
- Now press the "tools" tab on the top, then press "Data Logger". Press tick.
- Press "Body", "Security" and then "Passive Anti-Theft System". Press tick.
- Press "SPAREKEY". Press tick.
- Screen will show the spare key programming switch state.
- ENABLE = Spare key programming procedure is accessible.
- DISABLE = Spare key programming procedure is not accessible.
NOTE:- The default setting on delivery of all new vehicles is ENABLED.
