Using the voltmeter

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Connect the DLC located in the transaxle compartment terminal TAT and ground using a jumper wire.
    CAUTION:
    • Connecting to the wrong DLC terminal may cause a malfunction. Carefully connect only to the specified terminal.
  3. Connect the negative battery lead of voltmeter (20V range) to the data link connector terminal FAT, and the positive lead to the data link connector terminal +B.
  4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  5. The voltmeter indicates the battery positive voltage for approximately 3 seconds,  then indicates OV  .
  6. Read the DTCs indicated by the movement of the voltmeter's needle. If DTC is not detected, the needle does not move.

    NOTE:
    • Code No. indication by the voltmeter's needle is as shown.
  7. If any DTCs is indicated, inspect the appropriate area and repair as necessary.
