Using the voltmeter
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Connect the DLC located in the transaxle compartment terminal TAT and ground using a jumper wire.
CAUTION:
- Connecting to the wrong DLC terminal may cause a malfunction. Carefully connect only to the specified terminal.
- Connect the negative battery lead of voltmeter (20V range) to the data link connector terminal FAT, and the positive lead to the data link connector terminal +B.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- The voltmeter indicates the battery positive voltage for approximately 3 seconds,
then indicates OV
.
- Read the DTCs indicated by the movement of the voltmeter's needle. If DTC is not detected, the needle does not move.

- Code No. indication by the voltmeter's needle is as shown.
- If any DTCs is indicated, inspect the appropriate area and repair as necessary.
