Windshield Glass: Removal

WARNING:

To prevent glass splinters from entering the eyes or cutting hands, wear safety glasses and heavy gloves when cutting the glass from the vehicle. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

Open the RH and LH side A-pillar assist handle covers.

Remove the RH and LH side A-pillar assist handles.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the RH and LH A-pillar assist handles.

NOTE:
- RH side shown, LH side similar.
Remove the RH and LH side windshield side garnish moldings.

Remove the overhead console.
1. Open the front console door.
2. Remove the screws.
3. Remove the overhead console.
  - If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the two sun visors and two clips.
1. Remove the six screws.
2. Remove the sun visors and clips.
Remove the overhead driver and passenger assist handles.
Remove the interior rear view mirror.
Lower the front portion of the headliner.
Remove the cowl grille. Refer to COWL PANEL GRILLE .
Using a soft brush or vacuum, remove any dirt or foreign material from the pinch weld.

NOTE:
- Lubricate the urethane adhesive with water to aid the special tool when cutting.
Using the special tool, cut the urethane adhesive from the windshield glass starting at the top center and work toward the bottom corners.

Using the special tool, distance the windshield glass from the body.

Using the special tool, cut the remaining urethane adhesive and remove the windshield glass.
Using a soft brush or vacuum, remove any foreign material or dirt from the pinch weld.
