Abs Hydraulic Control Unit Removal/Installation

WARNING:
  • Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
CAUTION:
  • Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plaster surface, immediately wash it with water.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module electrical connector by rotating the release lever.

    NOTE:
    • After removing the brake lines, cap the holes in the hydraulic control unit (HCU) to prevent dust or foreign matter from entering the brake line ports.
  3. Remove the brake lines from the HCU.

  4. Remove the nuts and the HCU assembly.

  5. Install in reverse order of removal.
  6. Bleed the brake system; see BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING , .
