Passive Anti-Theft Transceiver Module Removal/Installation

CAUTION:
  • Electronic modules are sensitive to electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. See IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
  3. If equipped, remove the tilt wheel handle.

  4. Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the upper and lower steering column shroud.

  5. Remove the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the lower instrument panel steering column cover.

  6. Remove the instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement.

      NOTE:
      • The steering wheel is shown removed for clarity.
  7. Remove the anti-theft transceiver module.
    1. Remove the screw from the bottom of the transceiver module.
      NOTE:
      • Only apply pressure or leverage below the key cylinder lower rib.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the module.

  8. To Install, reverse the removal procedure.
