Mirror Does Not Function With Switch Logic

SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - MIRROR DOES NOT FUNCTION WITH SWITCH LOGIC

PINPOINT TEST 3 MIRROR DOES NOT FUNCTION WITH SWITCH LOGIC
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK MIRROR MOVEMENT (LEFT/RIGHT)
  • Operate the left and right power mirrors in the left and right directions.
  • Do the mirrors move left and right? 
 Yes Go to step 2.
No Go to step 3.
2 CHECK MIRROR MOVEMENT (UP/DOWN)
  • Operate the left and right power mirrors in the up and down direction.
  • Do the mirrors move up and down? 
 Yes System is OK.
No Go to step 5.
3 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE INOPERATIVE MIRROR
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect inoperative power mirror connector 0912-302 (left exterior rear view mirror) or 0912-303 (right exterior rear view mirror).
  • Measure the voltage between inoperative right exterior rear view mirror connector 0912-303 pin 1 circuit DG, or left exterior rear view mirror connector 0912-302 pin 1 circuit R, wire and ground while operating the exterior rear view mirror switch.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
 Yes Replace the exterior mirror motor in question. See OUTSIDE MIRROR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Test the system for normal operation.
No Go to step 4.
4 CHECK THE POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL
  • Disconnect power exterior rear view mirror switch connector 0912-301.
  • Check the power exterior rear view mirror switch. See POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION .
  • Is the power outside mirror switch OK? 
 Yes Repair R wire and/or DG wire. Test the system for normal operation.
No Replace power outside mirror switch. See POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Test the system for normal operation.
5 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE INOPERATIVE MIRROR
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect the inoperative power mirror connector 0912-302 (left exterior rear view mirror) or 0912-303 (right exterior rear view mirror).
  • Measure the voltage between inoperative left exterior rear view mirror connector 0912-302 pin 2 circuit DL, or right exterior rear view mirror connector 0912-303 pin 2 circuit V, and ground while operating the exterior rear view mirror switch.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
 Yes Replace the exterior rear view mirror motor in question.
See OUTSIDE MIRROR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Test the system for normal operation.
No Go to step 6.
6 CHECK THE POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL
  • Disconnect the power outside mirror switch connector 0912-301.
  • Perform the power outside mirror switch inspection.

    See POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION .

  • Is the power outside mirror switch OK? 
 Yes Repair DL wire and/or V wire. Test the system for normal operation.
No Replace the power outside mirror switch. See POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Test the system for normal operation.
