One Touch Down Feature Is Inoperative

SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - ONE TOUCH DOWN FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE

PINPOINT TEST 4 ONE-TOUCH DOWN FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 RETRIEVE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
  • Retrieve and document the continuous DTCs.
  • Clear Continuous DTCs.
  • Perform SJB the on-demand self-test.
  • Are any DTCs recorded? 
Yes If DTC B1398, Go to step 3.
If DTC B1400, Go to step 3.
If DTC B1342, Replace the SJB.
See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Test the system for normal operation.
No Go to step 2.
2 CHECK THE ONE-TOUCH DOWN RELAY
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect the one-touch down relay from the SJB.
  • Check the one-touch down relay. See ONE TOUCH DOWN RELAY INSPECTION .
  • Is the one-touch down relay OK? 
Yes Go to step 3.
No Replace the one-touch down relay. Clear the DTCs. Test the system for normal operation.
3 CHECK THE ONE-TOUCH DOWN RELAY FOR A SHORT TO POWER
  • Key ON.
  • Measure the voltage between the one-touch down relay connector pin 1, circuit LB/B, harness side and ground.
  • Is voltage present? 
Yes Replace the SJB.
See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
No Go to step 4.
4 CHECK CIRCUIT LB/B FOR AN OPEN
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect the one-touch down relay.
  • Measure the resistance between one-touch down relay pin 1, circuit LB/B, harness side and window safety relay pin 87, circuit LB/B, harness side. Measure the resistance between one-touch down relay pin 5, circuit LB/B, harness side, and window safety relay pin 87, circuit LB/B, harness side.
  • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Go to step 5.
No Replace the SJB.
See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Test the system for normal operation.
5 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION
  • Disconnect SJB J-2280c.
  • Disconnect SJB J-2280d.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion.
    • damage or pushed-out pins.
  • Connect all of the SJB connectors and make sure the are seated correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present? 
Yes Replace the SJB.
See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . Clear the DTCs. Test the system for normal operation.
No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
Clear the DTCs. Test the system for normal operation.
