Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Left Side Sensor
1. Raise and support the vehicle.

Right Side Sensor

1. Remove the right front wheel and tire assembly.




2. Position aside the right front fender splash shield.

Both Sensors

NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with lock lubricant to assist in removal.




1. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.




2. Remove the heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) from the exhaust manifolds.
- If necessary, lubricate the heated oxygen sensors to assist in removal.




3. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.




4. Remove the heated oxygen sensors from the exhaust pipe using the Oxygen Sensor Wrench.
- If necessary, lubricate the heated oxygen sensors to assist in removal.

NOTE: Apply a light coat of anti-seize compound to the threads of the heated oxygen sensors.




5. Install in reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque: {36-46 Nm, 27-33 ft-lbf}
