DTC P0101: Notes

DTC P0101 [AJ] DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0101 MAF sensor inconsistent with TP sensor
DETECTION CONDITION
  • The PCM monitors mass intake air flow amount when the engine is running.
    • If the mass intake airflow amount is the 8.4-81 l/s or below  (the value depends on engine speed) for 5 s  and the throttle opening angle is 50% or above  with the engine speed is above 1,000 RPM  , the PCM determines that the detected mass intake airflow amount is too low.
    • If the mass intake airflow amount is 73 l/s or above  for 5 s  and the engine speed is 2,500 RPM or below  with engine running, the PCM determines that the detected mass intake airflow amount is too high.

Diagnostic support note
  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • MAF sensor malfunction
  • TP sensor malfunction
  • Voltage drops in MAF signal circuit
  • Electrical corrosion in MAF signal circuit
  • Electrical corrosion in MAF RETURN circuit
  • Voltage drops in ground circuit
  • PCM malfunction
