DTC P0123 [AJ] DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0123 TP sensor No.1 circuit high input
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • If the PCM detects that TP sensor No.1 voltage at PCM terminal 2AM is 4.9 V or above  after ignition switch is ON, the PCM determines that the TP circuit has a malfunction.

Diagnostic support note 
  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • TP sensor No.1 malfunction
  • Connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to power circuit between throttle body terminal F and PCM terminal 2AM
  • Open circuit between throttle body terminal E and PCM terminal 2AN
  • PCM malfunction
