DTC P2144: Notes

DTC P2144 [AJ] DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P2144 EGR boost sensor solenoid valve circuit low input
DETECTION CONDITION
  • PCM monitors EGR boost sensor solenoid valve control signal at PCM terminal 1 AX. if the PCM turns EGR boost sensor solenoid valve off but voltage at PCM terminal 1 AX still remains low, PCM determines that EGR boost sensor solenoid valve circuit has malfunction.

Diagnostic support note
  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • EGR boost sensor solenoid valve malfunction
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between main relay and EGR boost sensor solenoid valve terminal A
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between EGR boost sensor solenoid valve terminal B and PCM terminal 1AX
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between EGR boost sensor solenoid valve terminal B and PCM terminal 1AX
  • Connector or terminal malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
