DTC P1270 DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P1270	ENGINE RPM/VEHICLE SPEED LIMITER
DETECTION CONDITION	P1270 indicates the vehicle has been operated in a manner which caused the engine or vehicle to exceed a calibration limit.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	Wheel slippage (water, ice, mud and snow) Excessive engine rpm in neutral Vehicle drive at a high rate of speed

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK VEHICLE OPERATION Check for: Water, ice, mud and snow causing wheel slippage Excessive engine rpm in N (Neutral) Driven at high rate of speed Was the vehicle operating in any of the above conditions?	Yes	Vehicle OK. Clear DTC and return vehicle to customer with information about P1270.
1		No	Clear DTCs and See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - ENGINE DRIVEABILITY to address any driveability concerns.
