Fuel Injector Malfunction

DTC P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P0205, P0206 DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P0205, P0206	FUEL INJECTOR MALFUNCTION
DETECTION CONDITION	P0201-P0206 indicates the fuel injector does not operate electrically even though the harness assembly and fuel injectors test satisfactorily.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	Faulty fuel injector driver within the powertrain control module (PCM)
HINT	Fuel Injector Description Solenoid-operated valve that meters fuel flow to the engine. Opens and closes a constant number of times per crankshaft revolution. The amount of fuel is controlled by the length of time it is held open. Normally closed and is operated by 12 V VPWR from the electronic engine control power relay with the ground controlled by the PCM.

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	Was the PCM quick test performed?	Yes	Go to next step.
1	Was the PCM quick test performed?	No	Perform PCM quick test. See PCM QUICK TEST .
2	CHECK FUEL INJECTOR(S) AND HARNESS RESISTANCE NOTE: Continuous memory DTCs will be erased during this test. NOTE: Test all fuel injectors identified by DTC or PID interpretation. Key OFF. Disconnect PCM. Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected. Measure the resistance between the PCM test pin 80 and the PCM test pin for the suspect injector(s). Is the resistance between 11 ohms -18 ohms?	Yes	Go to next step.
2		No	Go to step 4.
3	PERFORM A THOROUGH WIGGLE TEST ON THE INJECTOR HARNESS Connect PCM. Fuel injector connected. Key on, engine running (KOER). Access the PCM-INJ PID using a scan tool. Wiggle, shake and bend small sections of the wiring harness while working from the Injector to the PCM. Are any injector values fluctuating in and out of range?	Yes	Repair circuit. Go to step 5.
3		No	Go to next step.
4	DETERMINE DTC BEING DIAGNOSED Is DTC P0201 through P0206 or an associated injector fault flag PID present?	Yes	Install a new PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Go to next step.
4		No	The fault that caused the DTC is an intermittent. See GENERAL PINPOINT TEST 4: INTERMITTENT .
5	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTCs COMPLETED Connect all disconnected connectors. Clear DTCs from PCM memory using WDS or equivalent tester. Perform PCM quick test. Is any DTC present?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INDEX - POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) .
5		No	Troubleshooting is complete.
