Repair Procedure
- Most repair operations begin with an overview illustration. It identifies the components, shows how the parts fit together and describes visual part inspection. However, only removal/installation procedures that need to be performed methodically have written instructions.
- The overview illustrations are followed by a callout table identifying the parts and the order they are removed.
- The overview illustrations also contain the tightening torques for the fasteners as required.
- Any advisory messages which apply to the entire repair operation are at the start of the procedure steps.
- Advisory messages that apply to a specific operation are placed in the procedure step.
- The procedure steps follow the overview illustrations and provide step-by-step instructions for carrying out the repair operation.
- Procedure steps are numbered and the part that is the main point of that procedure is shown in the illustration with the corresponding number. Occasionally, there is important or additional information concerning a procedure. See this information when servicing the related part.
- Procedure steps follow the sequence shown in the overview illustrations, and contain the fastener tightening torques where necessary.
- The procedure steps are divided into separate removal and installation, unless the installation is the exact reverse of the removal procedure.
