DTC P0463 [AJ] DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

Fuel gauge sender unit circuit high input |
| DETECTION CONDITION |
- The PCM monitors the voltage of the fuel gauge sender unit. If the PCM detected PCM terminal 12 voltage above 4.92 V
for 5 seconds
, the PCM determines that the fuel gauge sender unit circuit has a malfunction.
Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
- The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
- PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
- DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

- Fuel gauge sender unit malfunction
- Connector or terminal malfunction
- Open circuit between fuel gauge sender unit terminal A and PCM terminal 12
- Open circuit between fuel gauge sender unit terminal C and body ground
- PCM malfunction
