CHECK THE IGNITION CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect the Smart Junction Box (SJB) J-2280a.
- Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO).
- Measure the voltage between the SJB J-2280a pin 7 (LG/V), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
|
Yes |
Go to next step. |
| No |
VERIFY the SJB fuse 4 (10A) is OK. If OK, see
PINPOINT TEST 1: THE IGNITION SWITCH IS INOPERATIVE

| 2 |
CHECK THE SJB GROUND CIRCUIT
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect the SJB J-2280c.
- Measure the resistance between the SJB J-2280c pin 30 (B), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
|
Yes |
Go to next step. |
| No |
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. |

CHECK THE FLOOR SHIFTER SWITCHED CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Connect the SJB J-2280a, J-2280c.
- Disconnect the Floor Shifter 0518-01.
- Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO).
- Measure the voltage between the floor shifter 0518-01 pin 6 (R/Y), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
|
Yes |
Go to step 5. |
| No |
Go to next step. |
| 4 |
CHECK THE FLOOR SHIFTER SWITCHED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect the SJB J-2280a.
- Measure the resistance between the SJB J-2280a pin 24 (R/Y), harness side and the floor shifter 0518-01 pin 6 (R/Y) harness side; and between the SJB J-2280a pin 24 (R/Y), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the SJB and the floor shifter, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the SJB and ground?
