Possible Causes

SINGLE POWER WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - DRIVER POWER WINDOW - PINPOINT TEST REFERENCE

PINPOINT TEST 2 SINGLE POWER WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - DRIVER POWER WINDOW
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK CIRCUIT (GY/Y) FOR VOLTAGE
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Driver window control switch 0912-201.
  • Measure the voltage between driver power window switch 0912-201 pin 5, circuit (GY/Y) and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
Yes Carry out the driver window control switch component test. See table at the end of this pinpoint test. If the switch tests OK, go to step 3.
No Go to next step.
2 CHECK CIRCUIT (GY/Y) FOR AN OPEN
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Smart junction box (SJB) J-2280C.
  • Measure the resistance between driver power window switch 0912-201 pin 5, circuit (GY/Y) and SJB J-2280c pin 16, circuit (GY/Y).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) , . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair circuit (GY/Y) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
3 CHECK CIRCUIT (BR/L), (Y/V)AND (L/GY) FOR AN OPEN
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Driver window motor, 0912-204.
  • Measure the resistance between driver power window switch:
    • 0912-201 pin 1, circuit (Y/V) and power window motor, driver side front 0912-204 pin 2, circuit (BR/L).
    • 0912-201 pin 4, circuit (L/GY) and power window motor, driver side front 0912-204 pin 1, circuit (L/GY).
  • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Install a new driver power window motor. See FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR AND MOTOR . Test the system for normal operation.
No Circuit (L/GY), repair circuit (L/GY) for an open. Test the system for normal operation. Circuit (BR/L), (Y/V), go to step 4.
4 CHECK CIRCUIT (Y/V) FOR AN OPEN
  • Measure the resistance between driver power window switch 0912-201 pin 1, circuit (Y/V) and SJB J-2280c pin 29, circuit (Y/V).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Go to next step.
No Repair circuit (Y/V) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
5 CHECK CIRCUIT (BR/L) FOR AN OPEN
  • Measure the resistance between power window motor, driver side front 0912-204 pin 2, circuit (BR/L) and SJB J-2280c pin 17, circuit (BR/L).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Carry out the one-touch down relay component test. See table at the end of this pinpoint test. If the relay tests OK, install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) , . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair circuit (BR/L) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.

One-Touch Down Relay Test 

ONE-TOUCH DOWN RELAY TEST

Circuit to test Connect ohm meter to terminals A good relay indicates
Coil 1 and 2 63-102 ohms
Contact 3 and 4 Closed circuit
Contact 3 and 5 Open circuit
Coil - Contact 1 and 3 Open circuit
Coil - Contact 1 and 4 Open circuit
Coil - Contact 1 and 5 Open circuit

Driver Power Window Switch Component Test 

DRIVER POWER WINDOW SWITCH COMPONENT TEST

Circuit to test Connect ohmmeter to these pins Move switch to these positions A good switch indicates
Left front window 5 and 4, 2 and 1 Up Closed circuit
Left front window 5 and 1, 2 and 4 Down Closed circuit
Left front window 2 and 4, 2 and 1 Rest Closed circuit
Right front window 5 and 3, 2 and 6 Up Closed circuit
Right front window 5 and 6, 2 and 3 Down Closed circuit
Right front window 2 and 6, 2 and 3 Rest Closed circuit
