Intake Air Component Locations - 2.3L: Notes

The air induction system supplies filtered air to the engine to mix with the fuel for combustion purposes. The air induction system consists of:
- The engine air cleaner
- The air cleaner element
- The air cleaner outlet tube
- The mass air flow (MAF) sensor
- The throttle body
- The intake plenum
The engine air cleaner:
- Is chemically treated, pleated paper
- Filters the engine intake air
