DTC P0030 [L3]: Notes
DTC P0030 (L3) DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSES
| DTC P0030 |
A/F sensor heater control circuit problem |
| DETECTION CONDITION |
- OBD system monitors the output signal voltage from A/F sensor which is proportion to the element impedance of A/F sensor. If the either of the following condition is met, the PCM determines A/F sensor heater performance considered failed.
- The output signal voltage is not between 0.75 V and 1.5 V
after specified time from engine start.
- The PCM detects DTC P0134 while the pending code P0030 is stared.
MONITORING CONDITIONS
- Battery voltage: 10-18 V
- Time from engine start is 74 s or more
Diagnostic support note
- This is an intermittent monitor (A/F sensor heater).
- The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
- PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
- The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

| POSSIBLE CAUSE |
- A/F sensor connector or terminal malfunction
- Short to ground in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal E and PCM terminal 2A
- A/F sensor heater malfunction
- PCM connector or terminal malfunction
- Open circuit in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal D and PCM terminal 2AC
- Open circuit in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal E and PCM terminal 2A
- Short to power supply in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal E and PCM terminal 2A
- PCM malfunction
