DTC P0117 [L3] DETECTION CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

ECT sensor circuit low input |
| DETECTION CONDITION |
- The PCM monitors the ECT sensor signal. If the PCM detects the ECT sensor voltage below 0.2 V for 5 s
, the PCM determines that the ECT sensor circuit has malfunction.
Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (Engine cooling system).
- MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2/Mode 12) is available.
- The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

| POSSIBLE CAUSE |
- Engine overheating
- ECT sensor connect or terminal malfunction
- ECT sensor malfunction
- Short to ground in wiring harness between ECT sensor terminal A and PCM connector terminal 2AH
- Short each wiring harness ECT signal circuit and ECT ground circuit
- PCM malfunction
